PRISM’s new client, Smithfield Foods, is a leading packaged meats company based in Smithfield, Virginia. These campaigns will be implemented by PRISMites in the Fall of 2018 and Spring 2018. Smithfield Foods is an international, leading consumer packaged meats company. An avid sponsor of Virginia Tech Athletics, Smithfield Foods partnered with PRISM in fall 2018 to increase its campus brand awareness and reach the Hokie Nation in innovative ways.
As finals season approached, Smithfield helped motivate Hokies to stay positive by launching a holiday-themed giveaway, “Give the Gift of Bacon.” PRISM leveraged its own social accounts and generated an increased reach and engagement rate by asking followers to tag friends in the comment section to be entered to win. PRISM created original graphics to market the giveaway and promoted it daily on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Ultimately, over 300 people participated and one winner was randomly selected to receive the prize pack, which contained freebies including Smithfield-branded kitchen accessories and a year’s worth of bacon.
