Since Fall 2022, PRISM has been spearheading Voices of Privacy in all social media efforts. Voices of Privacy is an initiative that is committed to empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the landscape of digital information privacy through video episodes, video interviews, and more.


WEBISODES, PRIVACY TALKS, & HOW-TO-VIDEOS

In partnership with VOP, PRISM assists in pushing VOP’s commitment of exposing the dark corners of the internet through the consistent release of Webisodes, VOP Privacy Talks, and VOP How-To Videos that educate the viewer on how to protect themselves on the internet and preventative measures to ensure one’s safety in the digital world. The videos have amassed an overall impressions of 45,695 and have an average viewership of 7.4 hours per episode.


VOP X WDBJ7

On every second Thursday of the month, the Voices of Privacy co-hosts appear on the Here@Home TV news program on WDBJ7 in Roanoke, Virginia where they discuss relevant privacy topics, some of which included: dating apps, social media, tips on privacy clean-up, and more!


SENATOR WARNER’S WOMEN CONFERENCE

Voices of Privacy was invited to and attended the 11th Annual Virginia Women’s Conference at Old Dominion University hosted by Senator Mark R. Warner. The conference consists of strong Virginia women of all ages networking and hearing from experts on a variety of important topics, as well as gathering resources from federal, state, and local agencies. The Voices of Privacy co-hosts were able to share insightful information about online privacy and ways that you are able to protect your own privacy with all of the attendees.


TIM SANDS VIRGINIA TECH PANEL X VOP

Tim Sands, the President of Virginia Tech, hosted an Information Privacy Panel at Virginia Tech. At this panel, the Voices of Privacy co-hosts appeared as guest speakers where they explained how easily accessible one’s information is on the internet as well as preventative measures to ensure your digital safety.
