As high school seniors prepare to make "the big decision" about where their next four years will take them, PRISM is proud to unite with Virginia Tech Admissions to steer prospective students towards Hokie Nation. PRISM’s multidisciplinary team will work directly with the client to amplify VT Admissions’ digital strategy through concentrated marketing and analytics tactics aligned with their business goals and objectives.
“This is an exciting account for PRISM. We want to encourage the class of 2025 to get excited and engage with admissions,” said Donna Wertalik, founder and advisor of PRISM.
VT Admissions provides the first glance into life at Virginia Tech for prospective students via their acceptance packages. Anticipation of the next four years starts from the exhilarating moment a student reads the words: “You’re in!” PRISM is thrilled to further enhance this experience with plans to design new graphics for the digital acceptance packages to welcome and excite new Hokies. The graphics will be entertaining and will encourage students to engage with fun GIFs and posts to highlight what our new students are most looking forward to.
With a vast majority of Gen Z flocking towards TikTok, PRISM is eager to amp up VT Admissions’ social footprint by launching a TikTok account. VT Admissions wants to focus on the students who are eagerly waiting to come to Virginia Tech and PRISM wants to highlight the excitement behind being accepted into your dream school! Our TikTok account will utilize the ability to “stitch” a video, feature future Hokies in the class of 2025, and include fun tips that cover where to eat, what fun activities to do in Blacksburg, and other advice! Staying engaged will carve out a prominent spot for VT Admissions on the For-You-Page.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the fun content and what [PRISM] comes up with,” said Michael James, Assistant Director of Admissions for Virginia Tech. “This TikTok account will be student-centered and is a break from just pointing students to another Princeton review.” Adding on, PRISM’s co-Chief Marketing Officer Savannah Meredith, said “We want to lead with humor, Gen Z verbiage, and of course keep up with any and all trends.”
In order to curate content that is engaging to potential Hokies, PRISM’s analytics team will uncover insights on which topics future students are most curious to learn about; the best dining hall, which dorm has the best study rooms, what it means to be a Hokie, etc. Through storytelling, PRISM will capture what it’s like to be a freshman/transfer student. We are excited to strengthen the narrative for VT Admissions social media and focus on individual, influential accounts of prospective students.
Currently celebrating its tenth year at Virginia Tech, PRISM continues to raise the bar and strengthen its presence as the award-winning student-run, faculty-led marketing agency on campus. This partnership with VT Admissions presents exciting opportunities for PRISM to push creative boundaries while helping the client to elevate the admissions experience.
